Gameplay Programmer

Our Client is seeking a talented and experienced Gameplay Programmer (m/f) for an unannounced Unreal 4 project.

As our Gameplay Programmer (m/f) you will have great passion for games and how they tick. In this role the main responsibility is the implementation of gameplay features which match the quality and performance requirements. You will work closely with the game designers and artists on implementing gameplay behaviour. Refactoring and unit testing is a core aspect of your work and you will need to be familiar with iterative working styles.

Your tasks:
• Implementing gameplay functionalities
• Improving the game performance on the game logic side
• Supporting the designers with developing tools for balancing and configuration
• Quickly becoming used with big code bases and maintaining third party code
• Creating and estimating tasks and user stories
• Maintaining the product by implementing support and bug fixes
• Evaluating new technologies

• 2-3 years’ experience in game development, preferably PC and online games
• Excellent C++ skills and well acquainted with Visual Studio
• Extensive experienced in development environments, standards and technologies such as OOP, Design Patterns, Test Driven Development, UML, etc.
• Experience working with the Unreal Engine (any version) is a plus
• Experience in code and data optimizing in order to improve performance and memory usage
• Experience with UI systems like Scaleform is desirable
• Knowledge of unit tests and profiler tools
• High affinity to games, internet and multimedia
• Fluent in English
• EU citizen or a valid working permit for Germany is required
